About the Founders

Laura Witwer
Professional aerialist Laura Witwer began her dangling career in New York City, training with nationally acclaimed trapeze artist Tanya Gagne. After many flips, twirls, and bruises on the static trapeze, Laura high-tailed it to Circus Arts and Acrobatics in California to study with instructors Vladimir Chvalbo (Cirque du Soleil), Tony Steele (circus veteran), and Karlene Griggs (Ringling). A little flying trapeze, a little trampoline, and a lot of hoop and rope later, she was strong enough to pursue her dream. In search of the ultimate in aerial silk training, Laura dug out her French dictionary and packed her bags for Montreal, home of the famous Cirque du Soleil. A full year of daily private coaching and grueling rehearsals yielded her dynamic solo on the aerial fabric, which has astounded audiences from Vegas to Buffalo with its phenomenal blend of beauty and acrobatics. Having performed with Cirque le Masque, Sea World, Bindlestiff Family Circus, Circus Nexus, and countless others, she wondered if perhaps there was room for a partner…

Angela Jones
Angela Jones has flown everywhere from The Schouwburg Theatre in Holland and The University of Mexico to the Battleship Intrepid in Manhattan. She began her performing career as a solo dancer, but after spraining both ankles, she decided that maybe it was time to try dancing on the ceiling. She began aerial training in New York City and then moved to Berlin to attend Die Etage Circus school. Angela is as versatile as she is strong, commended by the New York Times for her “powerful stage presence”. Just when she began to think maybe she had explored almost every possibility with silk, another adventure beckoned…
Together the two joined forces and became Luminosity, a powerhouse duo with acts on fabrics, trapeze, lyra, and more. They performed to international acclaim at such prestigious venues as:
- the Olympic Stadium in Greece
- the Krystal Palace in Germany
- the majestic theaters of Bangkok, Thailand
- the Casino Estoril in Portugal
- the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, home of Cirque du Soleil’s “O”
- … and hundreds more!
As their popularity soared, they were featured on everything from the morning news to the Sundance Channel - people couldn’t seem to get enough! The duo quickly realized that they had an eye for talent, and began working with a meticulously chosen team of amazing artists and designers. The result was ImaginAerial, one of the most sought-after cirque-style performance troupes in the world. The company took off almost immediately with a huge feature on PBS, and several product launches for TACA Airlines, Novo Nordisk, The SevenBar Foundation, and more. The future looks bright as ImaginAerial launches its first touring production “Luminarium”, a full scale theatrical extravaganza, fusing breathtaking cirque acts with cutting edge lighting and projection. Dare to imagine what they’ll dream up next…
